Below are the topics discussed and links to various resources regarding our recent Yakima SolidWorks Users Group Meeting.

WINTER MEETING 2014: We had an informative meeting recently with about 8 people in attendance to hear Michael Steeves from Quest Integration and Fresh from his presentation at SolidWorks World 2014, present “How to Innovate within the Bounds of Industry Standards" and Chris Scarlett demonstrate "Using Solid Body Parts in Assembly Design”.  Pizza, licorice and pop were served for dinner.  The meeting wrapped up with the SolidWorks Clinic where we modified a part model submitted by Francisco Martinez who was experiencing  difficulty in applying a fillet feature on a complex surface.

We need you back to our meetings.  When only 8 people attend our meetings it makes it difficult to justify continuing.  If you have any interest in the these meetings then please provide us with support by showing up and engaging with your fellow designers and engineers.

Francisco Martinez, from Renton Technical College sent us a part file for our SolidWorks Clinic of a model that he was having trouble with.  He was trying to get the fillet feature to work on a part with complex geometry involving some loft features.   Please visit the following link for a dwonload of the part: 140121-water_meter_housing1.SLDPRT.  Below are YouTube instructional videos on the part:
