Meeting Follow Up:  Great meeting at the Yakima Maker Space last night for the third annual SLUGME event with 8 people in attendance – we wish there were more.  As expected - Neil Custard provided a great presentation on various tips and tricks and details related to Fillets – Shells – drawings and more.

YSWUG - SLUGME begins

Winners: Out of more than 40 groups from around the world YSWUG was the winner of the SLUGME grand prize which I believe was provided by DriveWorks, but am not certain – or we missed that part of the presentation.  Josh Ziegler of Burrows Tractor was YSWUG’s grand prize winner of our raffle (and the SLUGME grand prize too) winning an Amazon gift card from Paperless Parts and a Rapid tape measure. 

Second Place:  Kelly Mears from Irwin Research was our second place winner with an Amazon gift card from “Rapid”.

Third Place:  Our third place winner was our group’s founder of almost 10 years ago - John Walden from Design Service Corporation with a Quad Copter from Paperless Parts.

Presentation Description:

Picking up from fellow users I have come up with a presentation on using tools to a deeper use.  I will go deeper into some tools and go over some other tools that I don’t see used enough and should be used more.

Neil Custard has used SOLIDWORKS since its beginnings in 1996 and is one of the fastest 3D modelers on the planet having earned first place in the SOLIDWORKS World 2012 Model Mania contest in San Diego, CA. as well as placing second in 2008 and third in 2010. Owns and runs CADXpand.com (formerly SolidWorksTips.com since 1999) that has helped millions of users over its time .
