This design is a second generation Flue Pipe Heat Exchanger (FPHEX) applied in the winter months utilizing waste heat from a wood stove flue pipe to pre heat and store water for use in a residential hot water heater. There are provisions for its use as hot water storage from solar water heating panels. Fabrication is expected next spring.
