Expand-A-Can, Trash Can – Product Concept

Problem:

Trash and trash bags are often difficult to remove from a full trash can. And people are also reluctant to compact their trash for the same reason – missing an opportunity for the more efficient use of resources. The problem is exacerbated when a full and/or wet bag is pulled out. The bag sticks to the sides of the can which – along with the suction from the bottom – often results in torn bags… and yet another mess to clean up.

Solution:

The solution is the Expand-A-Can, Trash Can. This allows for the compaction of trash while also making it easy to empty when the can gets full. Compacted trash means less time hauling and emptying and less volume at the curb and landfill. When at rest the sides naturally expand outward and are bound together with a quick release strap. When the can is empty and ready to be filled the strap is tightened making the top of the can smaller. When the trash or the trash bag is ready to be emptied, simply release the strap allowing the sides of the can to naturally expand providing plenty of room to get the trash out.
