YSWUG Summer Meeting

YSWUG members,

Another reminder, our next Users Group meeting is coming up this week on Thursday, September 6th at the usual first floor meeting room of the Oxford Suites in Yakima between 6 and 8pm. Sub sandwiches, chips and pop are on the menu for dinner.

Please confirm that you will be attending by responding to this email (if you have not done so yet).

Presentation topics include:
“Introduction to and Models that Utilize Configurations, Design Tables and Equations” with models and presentations by Silas Curfman and Chris Scarlett.
“Using the Dimension Expert in a SolidWorks Drawing” by Jeff Abramson.
Plus, a brief demonstration of a 3D printer, the Makerbot Replicator and how it is used with SolidWorks.

This meeting will be sponsored by DriveWorks Design Automation for SolidWorks who, along with the Rapid Group, have provided raffle prizes for our meeting.

Raffle prizes include:
$25 gift cards for the Home Depot (RapidGroup)
$25 gift cards for Best Buy (RapidGroup)
$25 gas cards for Exxon Mobil
USB flashdrive 2Gb (DriveWorks)
USB flashdrive 1Gb (2) (SolidWorks)
About a fifty pound box from SolidWorks with various items in it including 2 educational versions of the software (students only please), hooded sweatshirt, polo shirt, back pack (with laptop sleeve), water bottles, insulated soft lunch boxes, hats and more. Plus everyone gets a flashing LED SolidWorks “Lets Go Design” badge. The task masters say that these must be worn and flashing in order to be eligible for any prizes!

I would like to make our presentations an open forum so that if anyone has something to contribute they are welcome to come up and show us what they know. Contributions may include a different method or options, a right click mouse button or shortcut menu option, a different application of the subject being presented or similar items. I would suggest that anyone who contributes like this, to not sit back down until they have taken their choice of available prizes.

Thinking about our fall meeting, we need speakers to present on subjects that are “next on the list” from our topics survey from last winter. These topics include “Assemblies”, “Bills of Materials”, “3D Sketching”, “Import/Export Healing 2D to 3D” and anything else that interests you if you want to present.

Please visit our website for additional information and directions.
